Martin Fisher
Martin Fisher
Staff Writer
Martin Fisher is first of all a repentant sinner saved by the grace of Jesus Christ, and he is also a father and grandfather. While still single, he and the girl he would later marry cared for campers at Work of Life Bible Camps in New York. Martin and Ruth married after completing academic and professional programs at different schools, then together ministered as house parents at Joy Ranch Home for Children in Virginia. They took their vision for ministry home, moving on to foster care, specialized respite care and eventually establishing a home for children of their own: five by adoption and two by natural birth. In all, they cared for more than 40 children as primary caregivers. In addition to not being primarily concerned for how their professional lives appear on paper in this world, Martin has carried on with a 15-year journalism career, working as the city-beat, crimes and courts reporter at several community and daily newspapers in Virginia and North Carolina. He has also helped the Christian Action Network team of investigative journalists with the production of several reports in the past.
